Chapter 12 // She is going

Saanvi's Pov

I found myself stirred from slumber by the light filtering through the curtains, only to be greeted by the reality of Yuvraj ji's adamant refusal to let me step foot into the kitchen.

His stern warning echoed in my mind, that I should not work or he would hire a squad of workers.

So I surrendered to the solace of sleep, finding temporary dream land to fly.

Yuvraj ji's departed to oversee the preparations for our journey to the city.

My stomach rumbled, demanding attention, so I quietly slipped into the kitchen to grab a bite to eat.

After our shared bath, courtesy of Yuvraj ji's insistence, I found myself ready to face the day ahead.

Not only bath but more than three rounds of his release pounding inside me.

As I stepped into the kitchen, it was like a tornado had swept through. Spices hung in the air like a fragrant fog, water pooled on the floor, and everything seemed to be tossed around. Utensils lay strewn about, and the smell of burnt food lingered, painting a picture of culinary chaos.

Soha didi stood before me, covered in a patchwork of food stains.

Turning around, Soha didi's eyes widened in surprise as she caught sight of me standing there.

She dashed towards me with sudden urgency, causing me to instinctively step back in surprise.

"Suno suno mujhe maaf kar doh!! Mai haath jhodti hu tumhare samne. Yeh sab kaam mujhe nahi aata. Subha se ek roti nahi naseeb hui hai, tum bana doh na?"

She pleaded and folded her hands.

"Par Yuvraj ji gussa karenge."

I felt like there was a fight happening inside my mind.

"Unhe mai kuch nahi bataungi!! Bas ek roti bana doh bhot bhukh lagi hai"

She begged me with desperation.

Unable to bear seeing her in such a state, I resolved to take charge of the situation and prepare a meal for everyone.

As the aroma of halwa filled the kitchen, I couldn't help but notice the sound of Soha didi's stomach growling, a subtle indication of her hunger despite the chaos around us.

Positioned at the entrance, Soha didi stood guard, ready to alert me at the slightest hint of someone's approach.

Prioritizing the offerings, I first set aside a portion for the cow, honoring tradition, before preparing a plate for Soha didi.

"Soha didi"

I called out her name, and she came running towards me.

As she reached for the plate, her movements were eager, almost desperate.

The sight of the food triggered a deep hunger within her, as if she had been deprived for a long time.

Seeing her engrossed in eating, I chose not to interrupt and quietly took my own plate.

"Suno."

She called me.

I glanced at her.

"W-woh bhot bhot shukriya. Bhagwaan tumhe khush rakhe"

She offered a blessing, but her gaze avoided mine, hinting at a sense of discomfort.

I smiled at her kind words, feeling grateful, and then I went on my way.

Yuvraj Ji's mother blocked my path outside kitchen.

"Aey ladki"

"J-ji?"

I asked stuttering at her authoritative stance.

"Yeh lo."

She handed me a brown paper packet.

"Yeh dawa hai tumhara dudh nikalne ki. Mai tujhe pasand nahi karti par tu mere bete ko khush rakhti hai. Isiliye yeh hai tere liye, usse pila dio dudh."

She ordered and I felt my cheeks flush with embarrassment as she delved into mature subjects during our conversation.

I nodded in response, and without saying another word, she turned and left.

I went to my room to eat some food and take my medicine..

Glancing around, I realized that Yuvraj Ji had donated my clothes to the ashram.

I forgot to ask him why he did that.

After finishing my meal, I stepped outside and saw Yuvraj ji talking to the guard who was carrying bags to the car.

"Chalte hai ab"

He looked me up and down, his gaze lingering on my attire before finally focusing on my face for a longer moment.

"Yuvraj ji! Aapne khaana?"

I asked him about breakfast since I hadn't seen him eating.

He nodded in agreement and gently offered me his hand.

I slowly enveloped mine in his, feeling a rush of sensations coursing through both of us.

As our eyes met, they conveyed a myriad of emotions, silently speaking volumes about the connection between us.

We respectfully touched his mother's feet to seek her blessings. She blessed us for a safe journey ahead.

I noticed Soha didi looking at us expectantly.

But Yuvraj Ji took my hand, and together we walked out of the haveli.

"Tujhe mana Kia tha kaam karne ko. Ab dekh tera kya haal karta hu."

His words, dripping with anger, echoed in my ear, leaving me feeling small and regretful.

I blamed myself for naively believing that he wouldn't discover the truth.

My body shuddered in fear at the thought of defying his words, knowing the consequences could be severe.

I lowered my head in submission as he settled me into the car, effortlessly lifting me by my waist.
